Amanda Knox is quite accustomed to seeing her name in print as she first started grabbing headlines back in 2007, for the alleged murder of Meredith Kercher in Italy. She and short-lived boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito were convicted and sentenced to 28-years in prison. They were found not guilty upon appeal, only to have her earlier conviction upheld. Knox refuses to return to Italy and instead is choosing to try and piece her life together in Seattle. It looks like things are going better than many would have anticipated because Knox is working as a freelance arts reporter for a weekly newspaper.

Westside Weekly's publisher Ken Robinson confirmed to AOL that Knox has written about ten articles for the publication since last summer. According to him, Knoxs' past is irrelevant and has had no baring on her ability to do her job.

"I think she's a very good writer, she's deeply interested in world of theater. She's a very enthusiastic contributor to the paper. I understand who she is, but it's no big deal. I only have contact with her through email. I've gotten some positive feedback from her writing, particularly from people involved in productions she has written about."

Robinson also insists that the publication certainly didn't hire her based on her notoriety. Instead he points out that Knox is a highly qualified writer that has completed extensive studies in order to help her hone her craft. Do you think that Knox deserves the opportunity to work as a reporter in the states when she is a wanted criminal in Italy? Should she be allowed to earn a living here in a way that brings attention to her name again? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
