Just when we had resigned ourselves to the notion that the Love & Hip Hop franchise loves when its cast members get into a physical altercation because it jacks up the ratings, they have actually done something respectable. We told you earlier this week that after taping the reunion show for Love & Hip Hop Hollywood in NYC, Yung Berg got extremely violent with his girlfriend/costar, Masika Tucker and now we hear he has been fired.

Apparently Berg's credit card was declined so he ditched Tucker with the bill and went back to their hotel. Once she arrived Berg snapped and allegedly hit her numerous times, dragged her by the hair and choked her out. Berg was arrested on numerous charges and sources claimed that Tucker was chalking it up to the alcohol in his system. VH1 has actually taken a stand and announced that Berg has been terminated, effective immediately.

"Based on the severity of the allegations against Yung Berg, VH1 is terminating its relationship with him in connection with Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, effective immediately. Yung Berg was arrested on November 5 and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing in connection with an assault on fellow cast member Masika Tucker. The arrest took place in a New York hotel several hours after the taping of the reunion special for Love & Hip Hop Hollywood had wrapped," said the network.

Here's the thing, no one will even try to dispute whether or not Berg should have been fired, but what about Joseline Hernandez's beat down of Althea Eaton at the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta reunion a few months ago? Eaton filed charges against Hernandez and police agreed with her version of things yet in this case, Eaton was fired instead of Hernandez, presumably because she makes for better television. Why is extreme violence permitted among the women in this franchise? Has VH1 set a double standard? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
