We can safely report that Fleetwood Mac is still a band based on the tour of the UK that was announced on Monday (via NME). The tour won't kick off until May of 2015 but tickets will go on sale on November 14. The run will consist of seven dates across England, Scotland and Ireland. None of them seem to be a Glastonbury appearance however.

"One of the things that I'd like to clear up is that we're not playing Glastonbury," Mick Fleetwood said during a BBC Radio 2 interview. "A lot of folks think that we are, so loud and clear: We love Glastonbury and all the surrounding history of such a lovely festival but we're not playing it."

The rest of the world, despite the claims of both Fleetwood and Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis, refuses to believe that the group won't make an appearance. Indeed, bookies in the UK have Fleetwood Mac listed as the second most likely headliner (behind only the Foo Fighters). We don't want to add the hysteria but it has to be noted that the band's schedule allows for it, easily: Glastonbury is scheduled for June 24-28, and Fleetwood has a ten day gap between its June 20 date in Dublin and its June 30 gig in Leeds (much longer than the typical four day gaps during the run).

And, as you'll recall, Eavis repeatedly denied that Prince would be playing Glastonbury during 2014 and...Prince didn't end up playing. Whatever. He's bound to be lying one of these years.
