With United States trap producer / DJ RL Grime's debut artist album set for release in just six days, he has unveiled one of the most anticipated collaborations from the album via his soundcloud page. The 4th track on Void, he has previewed "Kingpin" alongside hip-hop heavyweight Big Sean.

The track, which premiered on Rolling Stone, has the much of the instrumental hallmarks of a Big Sean tune and it seems to cater to Big Sean. Instead of it being RL Grime featuring Big Sean, it almost feels like Big Sean featuring RL Grime. It is more complex then a typical rap instrumental, but RL Grime seems to hold back a little back to accommodate Big Sean. It situates itself as more of a hip-hop song than any of the trap tracks found on the album.

Big Sean has been dipping heavily into the dance music well over the past few weeks. He was featured on Calvin Harris' album Motion, adding vocals to the track "Open Wide," formerly "C.U.B.A." "Kingpin" suits Big Sean better and with this recent spat of dance music collabs, it wouldn't be out of the question to wonder whether or not he has more coming down the pipeline.

RL Grime is the trap moniker of Henry Steinway. He also produces electro house under the name Clockwork, with tunes like "Signals" and "Surge" released under that name. RL Grime has done very well with the recent upsurge in popularity of trap music, an instrumental form of hip-hop that was founded in the south in the early 2000s. His single "Tell Me" with What So Not (Emoh Instead and Flume) was arguably the hit of the summer in the genre and he has been in full album mode releasing singles in the lead up to the album, including the seemingly goat inspired "Core".

He recently discussed the direction of the album with Idolator. "I use a lot of breaks and there's some drum and bass ideas in it. It's just all the stuff that I've always wanted to make but never felt like I could put it out just as a single." RL Grime explained, "There's a lot of stuff that makes sense in the album's context, but wouldn't make sense if I just put it out alone. I think it's pretty diverse. I'm just really excited for it."

The album drops next Monday, Nov. 17th, so prep yourselves for that and head to iTunes to pre-order it.
