Diplo is known for his collaborations across the music world. Whether it is his work with Usher, MIA, Skrillex or Vybz Cartal, Diplo has his hand in just about every musical cookie jar. Now, in a recent interview with In the Mix, he provides some clarity on one of the collaborations with Madonna that will feature Nicki Minaj and now-revealed SOPHIE. He also lists some new collaborators who will be a part of the upcoming Major Lazer album, like Ellie Goulding, Gwen Stefani and others. He has also given a loose timeline for the release.

The Diplo-Madonna relationship is something that has been growing throughout 2014, as she tapped the American DJ/producer to make a few tracks on her upcoming album. During NYC Fashion Week, he appeared with her and Skrillex at the nightclub Space for an impromptu DJ set.

Speaking to Ebro on his Hot 97 radio show Ebro in the Morning, he revealed that one of the tracks will have Nicki Minaj. Now Diplo has revealed that the Nicki Minaj and Madonna collaboration will also include dance pop artist SOPHIE.

The disc jockey also dishes on the upcoming Major Lazer album, which was expected to be released early next year, but there was no serious confirmation on this. Now it seems that this is on schedule, as it is in the final mixing and mastering phase and is just down to the final details.

According to the interview, the album will feature Ellie Goulding, Travis Scott, Pusha T, Gwen Stefani, 2 Chainz and Mø.

Diplo describes the project by saying, "This new one's taken the attitude of what the future of reggae could sound like."

Major Lazer just made their biggest blockbuster yet: their collaboration with Ariana Grande's "All My Love" for the Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 soundtrack. The group will be premiering a host of the new album's material at their sold-out show in Jamaica this December, then a single is slated for release in January and then the album should come out in March or April.
