Let the rumors begin. A-list actor Brad Pitt is reportedly trying to play Bruce Springsteen in a biopic. Early reports claim that Pitt is raising funds to make a movie tentatively titled The Boss. Springsteen has been approached many times before, but a source told the The National Enquirer that Pitt's involvement has peaked the rock star's interest.

Now, you have to take anything from TNE with caution, but it's certainly a discussion worth having. A comprehensive biography titled Bruce came out in 2012, and it would provide decent source material for a movie. The aging rocker is still as active as ever in the music scene, which would potentially hinder a film production, though. And it's great that Pitt may want to do this, but there are other actors to consider for the part of the polarizing frontman.

"Bruce is 65 now and he feels it's time, and this is Brad Pitt, so he is thinking it over," the source said. "Bruce and Brad share a desire to unite the world and serve the underrepresented and help the working people around the globe."

Springsteen released his 18th studio effort, High Hopes, in January. It went straight to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, as well as conquering charts around the globe. Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello played on the album, breathing new life into previously recorded tunes like "American Skin (41 Shots)" and "The Ghost of Tom Joad." The album also featured two tracks with sax work by former E Street Band member Clarence Clemons, who died in 2011.

In other biopic news, the on-and-off Janis Joplin movie, Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can, is finally moving forward. Amy Adams is set to star as the "Me and Bobby McGee" singer, while Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallee recently signed on to helm the picture. Filming for the project will begin in the second half of 2015.
