The 2014 Soul Train Awards have come to an end. Although the ceremony was filmed last month in Las Vegas, viewers at home got a chance to see how things went down on Sunday night. The star studded R&B show highlighted some of the genre's upcoming talent along with the originators who paved the way. Beyoncé took home Album of the Year for her self-titled EP. Chris Brown performed a melody of his hits and Kool & the Gang were honored with the Soul Train Legends Award, among all of the other excitement of the night.

Brown opened the show with a mash-up of a few fan favorites. Brown kicked things off with a live rendition of "Yo (Excuse Me Miss)" from his 2005 debut album. He pop locked across the stage to "Poppin'" and smoothed things out with "Take You Down." Breezy also threw in a few of his latest releases including "New Flame" and "Loyal."

In addition to his performance, Brown took home two awards, Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year and Best Dance Performance, for "Loyal."

Tinashe also took the stage performing a snippet of her A$AP Rocky-assisted single "Pretend" and "2 On."

Jodeci reunited for the first time in nearly a decade. The group had the entire audience on their feet as they performed a string of hits from the 90's including "Freek'N You," "Stay," "Come And Talk To Me" and "Forever My Lady." They even debuted a new song called "Nobody Wins" alongside B.o.B.

The night wasn't complete without a tribute to hip-hop's most sampled group, Kool & The Gang. A slew of artists came out to perform the group's greatest hits as hip-hop historian Questlove traced the lineage of songs that have sampled their music. Tamar Braxton, Joe, Ledisi, Elle Varner, Tank and Ma$e were among those who showed their respects to the funk pioneers.

Lil' Kim, Missy Elliott and Da Brat stole the show closing and reuniting on stage with Yo-Yo, Lady of Rage and MC Lyte for their first live performance of "Not Tonight (Ladies' Night)" in nearly two decades.
