The female trio of Sleater-Kinney will drop their long-awaited eighth studio album, No Cities To Love, in January. The record will be their first release 10 years. This week, they'll be giving fans a window into their reformation and creative process with appearances on Reddit and The Chris Gethard Show.

Here's the official statement from The CG Show (via Pitchfork): This week on TCGS, we are super psyched to welcome SLEATER-KINNEY to TCGS! That's right — this seminal punk/riot grrrl/generally all around bad ass band has reunited and for some reason they've decided to come hang out on the panel of your favorite public access television show. We'll be playing a game with them all night long that you can call in and be a part of... it's called ALL HANDS ON THE BAD ONE, and you don't want to miss it.

The group got back together this year after an eight-year hiatus. Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein were in the same room when they decided to call Janet Weiss and get the band back together.

"I think we had two people in the room who are known fans of the band," Brownstein told NPR. "One is Corin's husband, Lance Bangs, and the other is Fred Armisen, who was a fan of the band long before he and I worked together ... they were very encouraging, and I think just wouldn't let that conversation die ... It was something that began percolating then. We talked to Janet and, you know, the conversation started."

Weiss noted that the group will need to push through a genre that is just as male-dominated as they left it.

"I still think if you looked at the headliners of festivals, though — the people that play after dark, I like to say — it's hard to be a woman," she said. "You will see it's very male-dominated, still. I mean, there's just still not a lot of women in those top slots, even though they have earned it completely. It's not like things are really that different, even though some of the best work is being made by women."

Here's the new album's first single, "Bury My Friends":
