The rambunctious boys of Deer Tick decided to celebrate their 10th anniversary in style, forgoing a straightforward celebration and opting for shows where they play covers by their favorite artists. The band kicked things off the day after Christmas with NRBQ's Tiddlywinks followed by Lou Reed's Transformer. They used the midpoint of their Brooklyn Bowl residency to pay homage to The Beatles by playing the group's second record, Meet the Beatles!, with the help of Tommy Stinson of The Replacements, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes and James Felice of The Felice Brothers.

Rolling Stone reviewed the gig, which had John McCauley screaming on classics like "It Won't Be Long" and "Till There Was You." Goldsmith joined in on "Don't Bother Me," Felice busted out the accordion on "Little Child," and Stinson hit the stage for what had to be a rowdy version of "I Wanna Be Your Man." Check out some of the videos below.

After each covers set, the group reconvenes for some of their own tunes. McCauley and Goldsmith performed two songs as Little Brother before Deer Tick tore through "The Bump," "Now It's Your Turn" and "Main Street."

"A song from 2011, the year of my drunkest moments — and a few of my proudest," he said about the latter.

Stinson rejoined the band for one of his originals and The Who's "The Kids Are Alright" before closing with a super jam of "Goodnight Irene."

"We've been a band for 10 years for a reason — 'cause you guys are awesome and we're not about the bulls--t," McCauley added.

The Districts will join the band tonight, Dec. 29, for some Devo covers.
