Many may think of Zedd as the mastermind behind hits like "Clarity," "Find You" and "Stay the Night," but there is a longer story to how Zedd became the superstar he is today. The German producer and DJ has been playing the piano since he was 4 and picked up drums at 12. With those talents being developed at such a young age, Zedd was able to start doing some shows of his own alongside his young brother and father, who played guitar and electric bass. A video has resurfaced of Zedd playing with his brother and father at an outdoor concert in 2001 when Zedd was about 11. Watch the video to see him absolutely shred on the keys in a stunning outfit of orange shorts, socks and flops. The complete rock 'n' roll package is there. It is clear he was destined to be a star, via Dancing Astronaut.

The musical journey for Zedd in bands did not end there. He was a part of German rock band Dioramic for 10 years, joining the group in 2002, but had to quit when his career as an electronic music producer was really starting to take off.

He only started producing dance music in 2009 and gained recognition by winning Beatport remix contests for Armand van Helden and Fatboy Slim, which put him on the radar of Skrillex and then, soon after, Interscope.

Watch these two other videos of Zedd showing off his talents as a musician — not just someone pushing buttons behind a stage. The first is one where he effortlessly covers his single "Find You" on the drums and the second goes back to when Zedd was 9, showing off his talents on the piano.
