Bad news for Britney Spears and her fans... her eighth studio album Britney Jean is flopping in the UK, getting bested by more seasoned releases from One Direction, Eminem and even Katy Perry.

Britain's album sales tracking service Official Charts Company released their mid-week sales projections for this week, and things are looking quite grim for Spears. As of now, Britney Jean is clocking in at No. 19.

Spears' eighth album has misses the mark in the UK due to more modern pop acts' releases.

Boy band One Direction are expected to hold the top spot for a second week in their home country. Last week upon its debut, Midnight Memories charted at No. 1, becoming the fastest selling album of 2013 and of their career, besting Daft Punk's most recent effort Random Access Memories.

Of course, there is also a distinctly British slant to the UK Album Charts. Releases from former Take That members Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow hold Nos. 2 and 3, while pop newcomers Olly Murs and Rebecca Ferguson also loom in the top 10.

More surprisingly from the pop up and comers, Spears' album even got beat by Katy Perry's Prism, which is projected to come in at No. 18 in the UK this week. That album was released all the way back in October.

Of course, this is only a mid-week chart and things could change. However, it's just not looking good for the "Perfume" songstress.

The full list will be released this Sunday on BBC Radio 1.

Spears' new album Britney Jean was released on Monday, Dec. 2, in the U.K. and yesterday (Dec. 3) here in the States.

Billboard has yet to post a projection for Spears' sales at home. However, One Direction did lead U.S. album sales this week.
