It's good to be the hottest boy band in the world. Today (Dec. 1), it was announced that One Direction have the hottest selling record of 2013 in their home country of the United Kingdom, and the "Story of my Life" group are also aiming for a huge debut in the United States.

According to The Official Charts Company, 1D will have the No. 1 album sales in the U.K. this week with their third full-length studio album Midnight Memories. The band has reportedly sold 237,000 copies during its first week in Britain, easily landing them the No. 1 spot on the album chart.

More so than just reaching the top spot, Midnight Memories has become the fastest selling album of 2013 in the U.K., outselling Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. The French duo's latest release marked 165,000 copies in its first week, a number easily surpassed by the powerful boy band.

One Direction easily beat its closest competition in the U.K. The No. 2 album spot went to Gary Barlow, who's solo album Since I Saw You Last arrived at the No. 2 spot with 116,000 copies sold.

The U.K. chart topper is just a sign of things to come for One Direction in the United States. Backed by their super powerful Directioner fanbase, the boy band are set to have astronomical sales in America next week.

Though the official numbers have yet to be projected or reported from Billboard, Hits Daily Double is reporting that Midnight Memories will easily sell over 500,000 copies in its first week.

Likely helped from Black Friday sales, One Direction's new album will likely sell between 550,000 and 575,000 copies in its first week, according to Hits Daily Double. Eminem's and Katy Perry's new albums will follow with sales of over 100,000.
