Christina Aguilera has tried on a lot of musical coats during her career. The pop megastar has been the teenage sensation, the "Dirrty" girl and the vintage pinup pop star - but now she's gearing up to enter an arena she's yet to step foot in: the world of country music. Or at least she'll play one on TV. Yesterday (Feb. 18), it was announced that The Voice season eight coach will be entering Blake Shelton's territory by guest starring in a new arc on Nashville.

Aguilera will play a pop superstar (no real stretch there) on the hit ABC TV show, according to People Magazine. Her character, Jude St. John, originally rolls into town for a two-night engagement at The Bridgestone, but she has a secret agenda for hitting the home of country music: she wants to record a country album. However, her label insists that she stays on brand making pop music.

How dramatic!

Aguilera is set to appear in a "multi-episode arc" on Nashville, though it has not been confirmed exactly how many episodes she'll grace the TV screens for.

Aguilera is no stranger to acting or television. In addition to her stint as a coach on The Voice, she has also made appearances in several movies, including a starring role alongside Cher in the 2010 film Burlesque. Aguilera also made an appearance as herself in the Russell Brand comedy Get Him to the Greek.

As for Aguilera, she joins a slew of stars who have appeared on Nashville, including Brad Paisley, Kelly Clarkson, Zac Brown, Conan O'Brien and Dan Auerbach.
