Yesterday, T-Pain accidently let it slip during his interview with Vulture that his collaborator FKA Twigs and her boyfriend Robert Pattinson were engaged. He later took to Twitter, claiming it was all an April Fool's Day joke. However, People reports that the two are in fact officially engaged. So it looks like T-Pain was just doing some backtracking with his April Fool's claims.
After just six months of dating, People can confirm the engagement news. The couple were first photographed together in September and were later spotted at Miami's Art Basel in December.
Pattinson, 28, reportedly gave Twigs, 27, a promise ring last month as a symbol of his plans to one day marry her. It's unclear if that ring was, in fact, the engagement ring or if a new ring was given.
E! also confirmed the news and quoted a source that explained the couples immediate connection.
"There is a special connection between the two of them," the source told them. "Music is a big part of the relationship, because it means to much to them. They clicked instantly and they literally have been inseparable."
E! reports that Twigs has already met Pattinson's parents and that they approve of their son's choice in partner.
Congrats are in order for the happy couple!
Other than revealing the fact that 'Ol Patty and Twigs were engaged, T-Pain also mentioned his plans to collaborate with the UK singer.
"Well, the first time we even met each other, we met in the studio," he told Vulture. "Her music's changed a lot since then. But she's on tour so much, and anytime I call her, she's in a different place."
Elsewhere in the interview he talked about his new mixtape The Iron Way, why those Aaliyah vocals was missing from it, his use of Auto-Tune, the change in his sound, his thoughts on acting, his upcoming studio album, and other collaborations and projects.
