The latest documentary to be presented among an impressive bundle on Netflix will focus on Grateful Dead co-founder Bob Weir. The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir will be available to stream beginning Friday, May 22.

Mike Fleiss, producer of The Bachelor, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hostel, takes the reins as director of the newest project on Weir. Fleiss previously sat in the director's chair for the 2011 documentary God Bless Ozzy Osbourne.

"We certainly unearthed a lot of buried treasure from the Grateful Dead archive while making this film," said Fleiss, reports Rolling Stone.

The Other One will provide viewers with insight on Weir's youth in Palo Alto, California, his achievements with folk-rock band the Grateful Dead and his camaraderie with Jerry Garcia. The documentary will include a mix of concert footage as well as exclusive interviews with family, Grateful Dead members, musical colleagues and Weir himself.

"Mike Fleiss was given unprecedented access to create an intimate and compelling film about one of the most prolific, respected and beloved musicians of our time," said Lisa Nishimura, Netflix vie president of original documentary and comedy, reports Variety. "We are proud to bring Bob's story to his fans around the world on the eve of the Dead's final shows at Soldier Field in Chicago."

May 4 marks the 2015 Grateful Dead Meet-up at the Movies, in which the 1989 concert in Alpine Valley will be screened in theaters across the country. Grateful Dead members will keep exceptionally active this summer with a list of gigs from the Dear Jerry tribute concert in Maryland to the highly anticipated Fare Thee Well shows in California and Chicago.

Phish guitarist Phil Anastasio and pianist Billy Hornsby will join the Dead onstage over the three-day stretch at Chicago's Soldier Field.
