Few songs have been hyped as much during 2015 as "Pretty Girls," the single by Britney Spears featuring Iggy Azalea. Now that the pop star is out of commission in Las Vegas due to an ankle injury, it seems like the perfect time to start promoting new music...perhaps explaining why the single leaked early on May 2 (from SPIN).

The single is, to use the analytical methods of former NFL head coach Dennis Green, what we thought it was. Have Spears and Azalea sing a song titled "Pretty Girls" and you shouldn't expect Pulitzer-prize winning stuff here. It's obvious that Britney must have taken a liking to the thick beat of Iggy's "Fancy" last summer, leading to her hiring production team the Invisible Men to do virtually the same thing on this single. Unoriginal as it may be, you can't fault the logic: Although "Work Bitch" off of last album Britney Jean was a success—peaking at no. 12 on the Hot 100—second single "Perfume" sputtered out early, and Spears knows that a smash single could mean the world for her yet-to-be-announced new album.

Speaking of worlds, the single art for "Pretty Girls" has been available for a bit, and seems to feature a Barbarella sci-fi theme similar to Ariana Grande's "Break Free" music video. Well, at least Azalea appears with her hair in a silver beehive hairdo...wearing barely there extraterrestrial body armor...while Spears looks fairly normal, riding a rocket. A music video for "Pretty Girls" is reportedly in the works so look for the space travel theme to make an appearance. Perhaps with some alien dudes "buzzing around me like flies" (to quote the single).

Most sites with embedded audio of the single have had it removed due to label complaints, but as of publication you can still check out the track here.
