The Barbershop franchise is back after 10 years. Following the 2005 spin-off Beauty Shop, a third Barbershop film is in the making, and Nicki Minaj has been confirmed as one of its actors alongside Common, Ice Cube, Eve, Regina Hall and Cedric The Entertainer. The Pinkprint femcee will play the part of Draya, "the sassy new hairdresser of the beauty shop portion of the barbershop," Variety reports.

This role follows up Minaj's debut acting role in The Other Women last year alongside Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Uptown. Prior to that, she had a voice acting role in Ice Age: Continental Drift as a teenage mammoth.

After her debut, she spoke to MTV News about her future as an actress.

"I am going on auditions, and I'm trying to find the right role with the right director and the right writers," she told them. "I want to be part of something from the beginning stage this time, and I want the role to be custom-made for me.

"I have such a versatile personality," she continued. "Some days I feel like I wanna do a Will Ferrell comedy; some days I feel like I wanna do more like a Set It Off-type of movie with some other young black actresses and like creating a movement with that. And sometimes I think, maybe I could do X-Men or something."

Well looks like she'll get both the comedy and opportunity to work with other young black actresses for Barbershop 3.
