Things are really good for X-Files fans this week. First it was confirmed that the rebooted version of the classic hit show which spawned two films will be returning to the Fox lineup in January and then last night David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson shared a very public kiss. He is currently celebrating the release of his debut album and at the end of a performance at The Cutting Room in NYC, Anderson appeared onstage. Before joining Duchovny on his version of Neil Young's classic "Helpless" the two shared the kind of kiss that set Twitter on fire.

It has been rumored for the last two years that Duchovny and Anderson are coupled up and living together in NYC. They seem to enjoy playing with their fans and keeping people guessing about the status of things but last night's kiss seems to indicate that they know each other very well. Fans of the X-Files have always rallied not only for their characters to be together, but also for Duchovny and Anderson to live happily ever after off-screen as well. Could it be that after 20 years of friendship and failed marriages to other people they have finally decided that they really do belong together?

Do you think that these two really are romantically involved now? And how about their return to the beloved characters of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully—are you excited to see them back onscreen 13 years after the original series wrapped up production? Do you think that the reboot will be successful? If Duchovny and Anderson really are romantically linked now do you think that they'll still be able to capture the chemistry and tension that X-Files fans loved so much all those years ago?
