If you're wondering what the best band of the last 15 years is, the answer would be The Killers. At least, according to The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers, that's the case. In a new interview ahead of the release of his latest solo album The Desired Effect, the "Can't Deny My Love" singer admitted that he's always thought that his primary gig was a little underrated and underappreciated in the public and critical world.

In a new interview with The Independent, Flowers admitted that he's only releasing his solo album to bide time between Killers records; his bandmates don't seem to have as much momentum as he does. "I'd prefer to be talking to you about a Killers record," he said.

And when it comes to The Killers, Flowers isn't particularly humble about his band's impact.

"Whether the people want to accept it or not, we might be the best band in the last long time!" he declared. "I'd go up any night against just about any band that's come out in the last 15 years. Not that it's a competition, but I do feel sometimes people don't have a grasp on what we've accomplished and what we've acquired. Everyone should come see The Killers! We're more than just a new wave revival thing."

Despite his big statements about The Killers, who have been nominated for seven Grammy awards, the band has not released a new album since 2012's Battle Born. Instead, Flowers' new album The Desired Effect will be released on Tuesday, May 19.
