Brandon Flowers, the front man of rock band The Killers, revealed that plans for a new album have been scrapped.

Despite recently releasing their synth-driven song "Your Side of Town," it has become apparent that an LP will not be created.

He confessed to The Sunday Times, "Halfway through recording, I realized, 'I can't do this,'" Flowers told the publication.

"This isn't the kind of record. . ." He paused.

Then the singer added, "I think this will be the ... I don't think you'll see us making this type of music anymore."

With its release in 2021, "Pressure Machine" by The Killers marked a return to their classic style of music, characterizing small towns and their inhabitants.

A standout track from this album is "Your Side of Town," an amalgamation of synth-pop sounds while allowing Brandon Flowers to contemplate his past work.

Brandon further expressed, "This is the crisis I'm in. The Killers are my identity, and our songs fill the seats, but I'm more fulfilled making music like 'Pressure Machine.'"

"I found a side of myself writing it that was strong. This was the guy I'd been looking for! I'm as proud of Hot Fuss as you can be for something you did when you were 20, but I'm not 20. So I'm thinking about the next phase of my life."

Meanwhile, Reading Festival was a star-studded event this past weekend, with acts like Billie Eilish and Imagine Dragons and a headline set by The Killers.

Back in June, Brandon Flowers also had a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with Sir Elton John at Glastonbury. He candidly spoke about it afterward, stating, "People were hoping for Britney Spears [to perform] instead."

This comes after the band had to issue an apology last week.

Despite their best efforts, things didn't go as planned for them during a show in Georgia. They invited a Russian fan to join them onstage and perform one of their most beloved songs - "For Reasons Unknown."

Unfortunately, this resulted in an apology from Killers shortly after that.

Before their performance, Brandon Flowers asked the audience, "Do any of you have an issue with us inviting a Russian up here?"

As soon as this query was uttered, boos flooded from the crowd.

Georgia has had issues with Russia since it declared independence in 1991 due to its control over certain territories.

Consequently, tensions between these two nations have been prominent and long-lasting.

Despite the concert not ending yet, many attendees started to head for the exits.

Meanwhile, Brandon Flowers of The Killers, aged 42, seemed determined to try and restore calm by himself, as described by the BBC.

Later on, The Killers issued an apology through their Facebook page.

"Good people of Georgia, we never intended to offend anyone! We have a longstanding tradition of inviting people to play drums, and it seemed from the stage that the initial response from the crowd indicated that they were okay with tonight's audience participation member coming onstage with us."

"We recognize that a comment meant to suggest that all The Killers' audience and fans are 'brothers and sisters' could be misconstrued. We did not mean to upset anyone, and we apologize. We stand with you and hope to return soon."
