Martin Garrix has become one of the biggest stars in EDM, and he has not even been on this earth for a full two decades yet. The "Tremor" producer has a busy summer festival ahead of him with gigs at events like Creamfields, Mysteryland, Digital Dreams, Ultra Europe and more. Even with a demanding touring schedule that comes with someone of his status, he has still found the time to work some other artists like Ed Sheeran and Usher. In a recent interview with the Digital Spy, he talked about those collaborations and whether or not you will hear him sing on any of his tracks.

On the subject of singing, Garrix won't do it because he doesn't have the voice for it.

"I will never, never ever sing on stage but when I'm in the studio I do sing melody lines...But you will never hear my voice on a Martin Garrix track."

He explains further, "I don't have the voice... I think. I like myself still kind of being... because DJs used to be the background guy—the guy who was just doing the music—I see myself more as that guy than being on the stage."

Garrix remarks on the balance he and Sheeran were able to reach with their collaboration.

"It was cool to work with Ed. He's a super, insanely talented singer songwriter and he comes from, like you said, a different musical background. It's really cool to combine our two worlds and find a point in the middle where we could find a piece we could both sell. We were both happy with the result and you can also hear in the track both our influences."

He eased into his collaboration with Usher—at first acting super timid, but then growing more confident as they worked more together.

He is currently working on an album that is "a very interesting process," but the difficult part has been to select the right music for an album. He would love to The Weeknd as a vocalist on a track, which would be a very intriguing combination.

In addition to the aforementioned collaborations, Garrix is also working on a track with fellow EDM star Alesso.
