Soccer fans have currently turned their attention to the FIFA Women's World Cup taking place in Canada right now, but soon eyes will turn to France, where the second largest men's international tournament, the EURO, will be held in 2016. The tournament of the best country in Europe, the month-long celebration will have a noticeably different spin on things this year. Though UEFA does not seem like the most electronic music friendly organization, as it is led by aging French soccer legend, Michel Platini, they have tabbed French superstar DJ David Guetta to provide the soundtrack to the tournament and perform at the opening ceremony at Stade de France on June 10, 2016. It is good he used to performing in front of massive crowds, though this will be a different beast than what he has taken on in the past.

Guetta will also produce the official EURO 2016 song.

The DJ expressed his excitement for the opportunity in a statement, saying, "It is incredibly exciting ... to be part of this huge football tournament in my home country. Music and football go hand in hand when it comes to celebration and enjoyment and I want to help to make this EURO the biggest and most memorable yet."

Guetta will also perform a free concert for fans on the eve of the tournament in Paris at the Champ Mars.

"We want the fans to be at the very heart of everything that we do," Guetta added.

Despite Platini's age, apparently he still can get down to a little Guetta.

"We wanted to work with David Guetta because he has proven throughout his career that he can create music which inspires people all around the world," said UEFA President Michel Platini. "David's music has great energy so we look forward to seeing and hearing him add to the spirit and atmosphere of the tournament."
