Last week was a pretty revolutionary for music thanks to the announcement of Apple Music, a new streaming service from the iTunes team that is sure to usher in a new era of listening to your favorite songs. Helping out with the announcement were a number of artists, including The Weeknd, a.k.a Abel Tesfaye, who premiered his latest song "Can't Feel My Face." This pop-laced R&B tune will remind you of an '80s Michael Jackson number, with a misleading title that will end up surprising and pleasing you! Check it out right here:

Gardens & Villa is simply a fun band, which recently downsized to a duo and moved to Los Angeles. This week, we got to hear the band's newest song, "Fixations," which is the leading single off of their 2015 record Music for Dogs. This is a great, fun track that is sure to brighten your day! Check it out right here:

RIYL: Ducktails, The Zombies

"You're a Germ" mixes aspects of pop-punk, straightforward rock and a little pinch of modern noise rock, which is definitely selling us on Wolf Alice having an incredible 2015. Are you ready to fall in love with these rockers? Take a listen to this new song right here:

RIYL: Speedy Ortiz, Creepoid, Yuck

It's always great to see talented musicians and performers coming together, so let's take a look at some of this past week's examples of these collaborations. Hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar made a great guest appearance on the track "Money Over Love" by neo-soul singer Bilal. Check out this new song right here! Plus, Wu Tang Clan members Raekwon and Ghostface Killah came together once again for a hot new track featuring composer Adrian Young entitled "Let the Record Spin." You can listen to this new song right here! Perhaps one of the coolest collaborations came from Alt-rock legends J. Mascis and Kim Gordon with their new song "Slow Boy." Listen to this song right here!

We also heard some fun new covers, including a new take on the Game of Thrones theme song by Brooklyn indie-rockers TV on the Radio. Check out this fun new take on the TV show's title song right here!  Also, we heard a great new take on Bruce Springsteen's classic hit song "Dancing in the Dark" by dance-rockers Hot Chip this week. Listen to this cover right here!

Bully could be the top break-out acts of 2015, which is definitely evident in the Nashville band's latest song, "Too Tough." This alt-rock number has a retro feel to it, with a relatable, modern sensibility as well. Have a listen to one of the coolest songs of the year right here:

If Damien Rice premieres a new song, you probably figure it would be at the end of our mixtape. So here we are, at the end of this week's compilation and the song "Hypnosis" will bring on this week's end. As usual, we get a catchy number from the singer-songwriter, with a more positive message than we're used to getting from the talented musician. Listen to this song right here:

We recommend you share this mixtape with a friend or family member that's trying to stay cool this week, huddled close to the air conditioner. Some of the tracks will blare over the incessant sound of the AC's fan while others will inspire the listener to move closer to his or her speakers for a better listen!
