Beats 1 Radio will be launching next week and Apple Music has already announced a slew of celebrity musicians who will host weekly radio segments on the service, including Dr. Dre, Elton John, Drake, Pharrell Williams, St. Vincent, Disclosure, Josh Homme (of Queens of The Stone Age) and Jaden Smith. Former BBC DJ Zane Lowe will be among the more experienced MC's working on the service, along with Ebro Darden of New York's Hot 97 radio station.

So far there haven't been too many details regarding the programs themselves, but users can probably get the idea what kind of content to expect based on those hosting the show—Homme will surely be rock-centric while Dr. Dre will probably focus on hip-hop. A New York Times article on the forthcoming Apple Music movement gave a few details about show titles, revealing that Dre's program will be titled "The Pharmacy" and John's show will be titled "Elton John's Rocket Hour."

The concept of Beats Radio was developed largely by Trent Reznor, the frontman for Nine Inch Nails, yet there's no planned program for him yet. Lowe will carry most of the weight as the "figurehead" for the service. John, a fellow Brit, is pleased with the choice.

"Zane is a genuine enthusiast; this is not a fake thing," he said in an interview with The Times. "He's a fan, and he's a fan who's got the opportunity to make his position in the world work for other people. He genuinely loves music, and that's my kind of guy."

This week Lowe revealed who his first interview would be for Beats 1 Radio, implying that he had booked Eminem (probably not too difficult, considering their mutual attachments to Dre). An airtime for that interview has yet to be announced. Somehow, the inclusion of Taylor Swift's 1989 among its catalogue generated even more headlines however.
