Perhaps the best casting news in years is rumored to be coming to The Real Housewives of Atlanta for Season 8. Bravo executives were looking for a high profile name to add to the cast and it seems that they've decided that Kim Fields is exactly what the reality show needs to give it an extra boost. Many of you will remember Fields for her roles on The Facts of Life and Living Single, both of which will likely give fans of RHOA an almost instant connection with her.
Fields is now married to Christopher Martin and has two young sons, which means that she has a lot going on. That is probably exactly what Andy Cohen and the other honchos wanted, especially after a few seasons of focusing attention on women with little happening in their lives besides filming RHOA. It was confirmed last week that Claudia Jordan's first season was also her last because aside from constantly shading Nene Leakes, she had no real storyline of her own.
There is already much speculation about how Fields and Leakes will get along. Up until this point, Leakes has insisted that she's the top dog with a family to raise while enjoying a somewhat successful acting career. Fields career is far stronger though and so if Leakes tries to pull rank on her with just how successful she is (as she so often does with her cast mates) then she might end up looking more than a little foolish. Clashes between the two women would likely make for some pretty interesting footage as well.
