Do you desire a show that ranges from absurdist comedy to overemotional relationship realizations with the snap of a finger, but How I Met Your Mother just isn't doing it for you? Then you probably miss Scrubs. But good news: Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the show will be returning as Broadway musical

The transfer of formats is obvious to fans of the show, who recognize the ever-present soundtracks. The show was also one of the first sitcoms to incorporate a "musical episode" into its run.

"One of the things we really cared about on the show was that we always incorporated not only pop music, but a lot of singing and songwriting, ranging from an  a capella group to a full-blown musical episode," Lawrence said.

Although very little has actually been done in terms of production, Lawrence said the general idea is in place. He likened it to a "mishmash of the pilot episode" and the famous West Wing episode where secretary Mrs. Landingham dies, with a greatest-hits collection of popular, humorous moments from the show.

The music hasn't been composed yet, but the group is in talks with multiple theater groups and composers. Lawrence hinted that Disney is serving as a "silent partner," and Disney's backing is always good news for a musical.

One thing Scrubs fans shouldn't expect: Zach Braff filling his role as main protagonist J.D. One thing Scrubs fans should look forward to: an appearance from Ted's a capella group, the Worthless Peons.
