The Oscars just couldn't "Let It Go" on Sunday night (March 2) as Frozen actress/singer Idina Menzel stormed the stage with a spectacular performance of the new Disney classic song.

Following an oddly flubbed introduction from fellow musical lover (and Grease actor!) John Travolta, Menzel, she appeared on stage in a stunning nude dress and backed by fittingly sparkly ice blue lights.

Menzel positively belted out "Let It Go" with an intensity little seen in the night's three other Best Original Song performances (from Pharrell Williams, Karen O & Ezra Koenig and U2), which were notably lighter fare.

Immediately following Menzel's performance, "Let It Go" was given the award for Best Original Song. Earlier in the night, Frozen also took home the little golden man for Best Animated Feature.

Menzel plays Queen Elsa, the icy Snow Queen in the Academy Award winning Frozen, which has gained massive fan support and critical acclaim, largely thanks to the film's stunning soundtrack.

As a marker of its continued success, the soundtrack to Frozen has sold over one million copies and has sat at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart for five weeks.
