Instead of bringing an expected opening musical group or artist along for her Rebel Heart tour, Madonna switched things up by bringing comedian Amy Schumer aboard as an opening act for her New York gigs. During the singer's Madison Square Garden stop last night, the Inside Amy Schumer star twerked her way into dazzling the New York City audience.

Schumer has opened up for Madonna with 40-minute stand up comedy routines and last night, she returned to the stage during the show's finale for a twerking session alongside the "La Isla Bonita" singer, NME notes. As the dance wrapped up, Madonna dubbed Schumer as "tonight's unapologetic b*itch" before announcing to the crowd that each night, a prize is given to said "unapologetic b*tch." The 57-year-old pop star then placed a sock puppet on Schumer's arm while handing her a banana before sending her off "to hell" along with one of her back-up dancers.

As The Hollywood Reporter notes, Schumer saw an abundance of applause along with a standing ovation trailing her stand-up routine at the Madison Square Garden stop. "Who better to open for Madonna than me?", Schumer said. "The answer: literally, any band." She then dived into old memories of singing Madonna's songs around the house as a child. "I'm following my dad around, 'Papa don't preach'" [he said,] "Stop, we're Jewish." [I sang,] "'I'm keeping my baby,'" [he said,] "You're seven. ... You need to get rid of it."

Following the two consecutive New York City tour dates, Schumer will return to the Rebel Heart stage to open for Madonna on September 19 at Brooklyn's Barclay's Center. The tour will bring Madonna gigs to Southeast Asia for the very first time, as well as to Australia for the first time since 1990. Arthur Fogel will be working closely with entertainer once more, having previously lent a hand to her Sticky & Sweet, Confessions and Re-Invention tours.
