Twenty years trailing the brutally honest, female anthem album Jagged Little Pill, Alanis Morissette is reprising her 1995 LP to craft a four-disc, collector's edition re-release, due out Oct. 30. Featuring a few bonus tracks, "Closer Than You Might Believe" is the latest demo available to listen to in celebration of the album's 20th anniversary- let's hope this doesn't rehash any harsh feelings for Dave Coulier.

"This song was from the songs that glen ballard and i wrote together leading up to the writing of Jagged Little Pill," Morissette told Rolling Stone in a statement. "This was when we were writing music and lyrics together. Once we got into the zone, after the writing of 'Ironic,' I would go on to write the lyrics myself, and the music with Glen. This song was about my lamenting the fact that i was relegated to the 'friend zone' with someone I cared deeply about in a romantic way. I had yet to begin writing as intensely or autobiographically. That began as soon as we wrote the song 'perfect.'"

"Having been labeled many things - weird, intense, intimidating, scary, psychobabbler, and my favorite: 'too much,' I wanted to write a song about having all these qualities within me to contend with, in a world that loves to reduce and categorize," the singer explained to Billboard.

Earlier in the month, the angst-ridden singer unveiled a harmonica centered demo titled "Superstar Wonderful Weirdos."

The JLP reissue also features songwriting history for the "Head Over Heels" singer in the form of the demo for the first song she co-penned with Ballard, the producer of the wildly popular record, "The Bottom Line."

Jaged Litlle Pill has also stirred up some anticipation with its very own Broadway musical adaptation.
