Pink Floyd's David Gilmour is at it again with a new solo album, Rattle That Lock, released earlier this month, and he returned to Later ... With Jools Holland to promote the album with performances of the album's title track and "Today."

With a battered up telecaster guitar, Gilmour sounded as prolific as ever on "Today," opening the song with a soft vocal harmony arrangement between him in the band before opening it up to hit own riffs and a satisfyingly long guitar solo to close it out.

It's definitely not a Pink Floyd reunion but you can hear the similar sounds all over the two songs.

"Rattle That Lock" is the title track and single from his album, which lands as the more modern influenced release, drawing on funk groves and catchy keys. "Rattle that lock lose those chains," Gilmour repeats over and over again on the song's chorus, invoking the more youthful guitarist of old shaking up the establishment.

Gilmour has been on the program several times before in the past decade according to Consequence of Sound. It's only fitting that he returns now that he actually has new music to promote.

Rattle That Lock debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 following the 2013 release of On An Island. But, he's breaking records on the Billboard Rock Albums chart, where nine of the top 10 rock singles are from his solo release. According to Nielsen Music, he's sold 70,000 copies in his first week.

Watch the two performances below and catch him on his limited North American tour that comes around next year. Check out his website for a full list of dates and more details on how to purchase his album.
