At just 16 years old, Jakob Armstrong, the youngest son of Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, is making a solid musical debut with three punk songs, "King of the World," "Don't Try" and "Waiting To Dance," under the name Jakob Danger.

The recent Rock 'n' Roll hall of Fame inductee already has one son, Joey, in the music business as a drummer in the band Swmrs, and now Jakob is joining his older brother with his debut EP released through Burger Records, according to Consequence of Sound.

Jakob posted the three songs to his personal YouTube account some months back, but the Internet is just now discovering the pop punk songs that are reminiscent of a more chilled out early Green Day style. Jakob probably has a few less things to be mad and worried about than his dad did growing up, so the same ferocity isn't quite there. But even if the lyrics aren't there yet, he certainly has a knack for crafting a catchy riff.

He has a lot to learn and a lot of time to hone those skills, but it's like he sings on "King of the World" - "Have patience and you'll see/ Who I'm growing up to be." The tune utilizes that classic driving bass sound so synonymous with Green Day songs and already displays a keen sense of change and structure in the quick three-minute song.

With Joey behind the kit, the brothers are working well together on these tunes, as the older sibling often provides the melody and hook with his rhythms, especially on the song "Waiting To Dance."

On "Don't Try" you can hear some of those same vocal stylings Armstrong has in his lyrics. The song also just has a good sense of space, using breaks in the music effectively.

Check out the three songs below, and hopefully we'll be hearing much more from this family in the future as they begin a budding music career.
