The music video for Maroon 5's V single "Sugar" was such a surprise, viral hit that it's getting its own TV show. On Thursday (Oct. 15), NBC announced that it has partnered with Adam Levine to launch an unscripted reality show based on the clip's premise of a famous band surprisingly popping up at major life events.

According to Deadline, Levine's 222 Productions is working with NBC on a pilot for a new one-hour reality show. Based off of the idea of "Sugar" (which wasn't actually a reality based music video), celebrities will "surprise" some of their biggest super fans at major life events such as weddings, birthday parties and bachelor parties as a major guest at the event.

Playing in to the show's theme, Levine is working with Wedding Crashers producer David Dobkin and Renegade 83 for the show.

The yet-to-be titled show shouldn't come as a major surprise for fans of Levine or viewers of NBC. The rock star is already a familiar face on the network as a longtime coach on The Voice. (Levine has been on the show for nine seasons since its inception and is already on board for the upcoming 10th season.)

And, as Music Times previously reported, Levine was shopping around a songwriting based reality show and competition Songland, potentially also to NBC, where has a development deal.

As for the "Sugar" themed show, there's no word on when it the pilot will be produced. And, as with all pilots, there is a chance that it won't get ordered to series.
