Is Justin Bieber the next Justin Timberlake? In a bold move, the young pop singer compared their careers during an appearance on BBC Radio 1 when he was interviewed by Nick Grimshaw yesterday (Oct. 27). Bieber vehemently believes that his transition is similar to the one that Timberlake underwent with his debut solo album FutureSex/LoveSounds back in 2006.

Grimshaw hit on one point during the interview that sparked an entire discussion when he mentioned that Bieber's hit new single, "What Do You Mean," really initiated a turning point in his public image. He additionally mentioned the young singer's latest single "Sorry."

Billboard reported that he answered Grimshaw's question with, "He was in N'SYNC and of course they had an amazing sound but it was also, it was young. It was for teenagers," Justin Bieber said and continued with a comparison of "What Do You Mean" to Timberlake's first solo hit "Sexy Back."

Bieber continued, "And I feel when he transitioned and started making 'Sexy Back' and stuff he really found something that was unique to what he was feeling and what he wanted to do. So I think it takes time as an artist to develop your style and develop what you like and don't like," in a surprisingly insightful observation for someone with throngs of Beliebers.

As reported by MTV News, this isn't the first time that Bieber has compared himself to Timberlake and first mentioned the similarities shortly after "Boyfriend" was released in 2012.

"I can't say I would be upset when someone compares me to him," Bieber said in response to questions over whether he had been influenced by Timberlake.

He continued with, "I just feel like my music is going a completely different route. But definitely, hat goes off to him."

And with all of the changes that have occurred since the release of "What Do You Mean" it seems that Bieber has changed his tune on the Timberlake comparisons as well.
