Fans of Empire rejoice! The FOX series is back at its usual time after the Kansas City Royals take the win for the 2015 World Series.
Last week’s episode was postponed due to the matchup between the Royals and the New York Mets, but viewers can now get some answers to the major cliffhanger of episode 5, which showed the youngest Lyon son, Hakeem being kidnapped while running in a park.

Elsewhere, episode 5 showed Andre confessing his sins to his family and getting baptized. He also had a run in with Lucious’ lawyer who somewhat threatened to expose him, saying, “I thought we made nice digging in the dirt.” Cookie tries to protect her new company and Jamal has relationship issues right before he’s set to go on tour. Lucious, on the other hand, is silently plotting as he takes Freda Gatz under his wing.
Once season 2 resumes, Lucious and Cookie will team up to find Hakeem. Jamal is eager to help find his little brother but his parents advise him to stay away from the situation. He opts to record new music. Andre, who was appointed president of Gutter Life Records presumedly makes some shaky business deals which leads to him bumping heads with Lucious again. While Cookie is on a hunt for her son, she may have found a new love interest. Promo for the new episode shows Cookie sharing a kiss with Laz, played by Adam Rodriguez. He helped protect Cookie after two men broke in to Lyon Dynasty to steal her masters and plant bugs to spy on the new company.
As of now, Empire is expected to return with its sixth episode, "A High Hope For A Low Heaven" on, Wednesday (Nov. 4) at 9 p.m. EST.
