Weezer promised a new song for Tuesday (Nov. 3), and boy did they deliver. Just a week after the release of the cannoli-themed single "Thank God for Girls," Rivers Cuomo and co. debuted the single "Do You Wanna Get High?" on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show.

The new song features all the elements of a sludgy Pinkerton era Weezer. Against deep, dark guitar and basslines, Cuomo brings a (rare) sexualized energy as he sings about an object of enchantment who has just one question: "Do You Wanna Get High?"

"Do you wanna get high / Don't need no dinner tonight / I took a roadtrip to Mexico and scored a hundred count / Do you wanna get high / It's like we're falling in love / We can listen to Bacharach or stop at any point," Cuomo sings with determination and a sense of urgency. Against the low tones of the strings, "Do You Wanna Get High" is a hard-hitting song and reminds fans that for every goofy Weezer song, there's this sort of real rock gem. And, for bonus points, there's a soaring guitar solo that brings the real hardness of this song all the way home.

"Do You Wanna Get High?" is the second new song to be released from Weezer in just as many weeks. However, there seems to be no new album on the way. In the interview following the debut of "Do You Wanna Get High," Cuomo said that Weezer doesn't have a record deal anymore but that the band is "doing whatever we want to do."

Weezer last released an LP, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, in 2014 via Republic Records.
