There was hope for Gucci Mane fans just a few weeks ago when his label 1017 Records posted on Instagram that the Trap House rapper was going to be released from prison in March. It raised a few eyebrows from those who knew about Guwop's previously announced release date in March 2017, however it could have been for any number of reasons and his label should be a reliable source right? Right? No. The label is recanting that story and moving back to the original, government approved release date of March 6, 2017.

1017 Records posted two new images on Instagram admitting their fault that he won't be getting out in March. Looking up Guwop's name, Radric Davis, in the Federal Bureau of Prisons database will pull up his register number and his release date of March 6, 2017.

The news that he won't be coming home this year is a sad for his fans, but according to his right-hand man and engineer Sean Paine, this may not be so bad after all. He told Pigeons and Planes at the time of the March 2016 release speculation that he was bidding his time in jail to build anticipation for new music.

"[Gucci Mane] wants to wait until he gets out to build anticipation and resurface everything under the new Gucci brand, said Paine.

Fans will now have to wait for another year for Guwop to get out of prison on gun charges stemming from multiple arrests. That has not stopped him and Paine from releasing loads of new music, though the stream of new mixtapes has slowed down in recent months.
