City boss Manuel Pellegrini opened up to the press about the team's recent FA Cup victory over EPL side Aston Villa, and what that means for the league games going forward.
"I'm very happy with the performance of the team [at Villa] because we made some important changes," the manager said, according to PremierLeague.com. "We're playing so many important games that I think we needed to rotate the squad. It's very important to have different ways to play. We can't press high every game because we have so many games it's impossible. We did very well in midfield with [Fabian] Delph, Fernandinho and Fernando."
Meanwhile, Yann M'Vila of Sunderland spoke to his team's website about today's tough competition.
"It's a pleasure to play against the big team but, like Bournemouth and every other team big or nor, you can win or lose," he said. "That's what is fantastic about the Premier League - you can beat anyone or be beaten against anyone - so playing against the Manchester sides and Liverpool it gives us a special motivation. Perhaps everyone expects us to lose matches like this, but I think we're more relaxed when we play the big teams because we have nothing to lose and that in itself gives us more motivation."
