Mat Zo has unveiled the album title and official release date for his new album. The follow up to his Grammy award nominated LP Damage Control will be titled Self Ensemble and will be released on March 25, according to a Tweet.

The cover art appears to show a man trapped inside a dimly lit, double layered glass box, which is slightly broken presumably from his attempts to escape.

There isn't much else known about the album. Mat Zo originally said in January that the album would be released some time in February, leading many to believe that the cycle for singles and other promotional materials would begin last month. That never materialized, which is probably why the release date was pushed back to March 25.

At the time of his original announcement he shared some demos that did not make the album, which ranged from drum n bass influenced tracks to almost straight ahead metal tracks. This diversity could be indication of what is to come for Self Ensemble from Zo or it could be the type of interesting electronic music that was present on Damage Control. Expect to hear some new music from Zo in the coming weeks.

Over the past year, Zo has become a very vocal of those who use ghost producers and DJs who get help with their productions. While the issue is much more complex than any series of 140 character posts could ever hope to capture, it is good to see someone with influence within the industry use to try and out an ugly practice that has plagued the industry, however bluntly he wields it.
