After unveiling the title and release date of album Self Assemble late yesterday, Mat Zo has shared the complete tracklist and first official single from the LP titled "Soul Food."

In a big step forward to being the solo artist that he wants to be, doing it all under his own creative umbrella, Mat Zo will be releasing the album on his own label Mad Zoo, instead of through his former label home Anjunabeats and Astralwerks. The album draws on everything from trance, to dubstep, to '70s disco and '90s pop. The LP was born from an ambition to write a film script, but eventually became the project finished today.

Coming in at 12 tracks, the LP has only a few features. Singer Sinead Egan will appear on two tracks, "The Enemy" and "Too Late," while he will work with UK electronic trio I See MONSTAS on "Sinful." Zo previously remixed the trio's track "Circles."

"Soul Food" is the first single to emerge from the album, though the original version of "Ruffneck Bad Boy" has been out for a year and a half. We will see how the VIP (variation in production) differs from the original to make it album material.

"Soul Food" has strong Daft Punk influences with robotic voices and a heavy disco groove running through the retro track with a modern twist. To top things off, Mat Zo is making "Soul Food" available as a free download, which you can cop right here.
