Congratulations are in order for singer Melanie Fiona and her beau, former American Idol contestant Jared Cotter, who welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on March 14.
According to Madame Noire, the "Bite The Bullet" singer gave birth to Cameron Lincoln Cotter on Wednesday March 14. She shared an Instagram family photo of she, Cotter and the baby, expressing how overwhelmed with emotions she is at the honor of being a mother.
"I am so thankful for this love in my life," she wrote. "My life is greater with purpose...There is only Now. I am a Mother."

The couple used Instagram to announce that they were expecting back in November of 2015. In a video clip, with her prominent vocals featured in the background, Fiona revealed the photo of her baby bump captioned with these heartfelt words.
"The greatest power a person possesses is the power to choose," the couple expressed according to HipHollywood. "The only thing greater, is being chosen. Thank you for choosing us. Jared and I are thrilled to become parents."
Cotter also took the time to share on his own social media his delight to become a father. According to HipHollywood, he wrote, "We are so excited for this next chapter of our lives! There is no greater blessing and I'm so happy to go on this journey with my best friend and love of my life. I'm gonna be a Dad!!! Thank you for choosing us. I promise we won't let you down. I love you."
Fiona expresses how she feels like a new creation after becoming a mother and is already working on her next album, which according to EUR, she plans to title Rebirth. No word on a release date as of yet but, the content should be based on what she loves to sing about -- and that's love.
