Alesso has released a new single "I Wanna Know" featuring Nico & Vinz. The summer-tipped tune is quite different from what fans have heard from the melodically-inclined Swedish producer as he collabs with Nico & Vinz for a marriage of their two sounds.

The track seems to sidestep something that Alesso would put into his live sets, an oddity for how little he puts out music, but he did say at the end of 2015 he was taking a step back from touring constantly to make his shows more memorable. The softer tune is geared for summer pool parties, Spotify playlists and the radio. It is more organic than what we have heard in to the past from Alesso with the soaring synth leads found in everything from "Cool" to "Calling" left by the wayside, replaced by piano and guitar by his Norwegian collaborators.

Upon first listen, it feels like there is something missing from the song, but the track has an infectious earworm quality to it that despite its somewhat whitewashed and plain melody. "I Wanna Know" has plenty of guilty pleasure replay value with summer just around the bend.

Alesso has been living in Los Angeles in some time now, so the sunshine and warm weather appears to have rubbed off into his music. He released the heavy, electro single "Anthem" as a limited free download on New Year's Eve, the first bit of music since his May 2015 album Forever. There is more music to come from Alesso soon.

Nico & Vinz are still trying to capture the magic they found with their smash single "Am I Wrong" and have taken to collaborating with other EDM artists like David Guetta, Thomas Jack and now Alesso.

"I Wanna Know" was first premiered on Beats 1 yesterday with Zane Lowe and is now available to stream on Spotify and purchase on iTunes.
