Jason Derulo proved last year that he was capable of releasing some stunning pop music with the weirdly captivating gem "Want to Want Me." Now, we are four months into 2016, and he's back to prove he wasn't just a one-and-done wonder with that hit track. On Friday (April 1), Derulo dropped his first new song of the year "If It Ain't Love," and, well he's done it again.

Co-written by Derulo himself and produced by Ian Kirkpatrick and The Monsters and The Strangerz, "If It Ain't Love" brings the same shiny finish that helped "Want to Want Me" stand out from the crowd. Thanks to Derulo's omnipresent falsetto, there's an old school disco flavor to this song that you can't help but be drawn into. But, thanks to a few tribal beats and an undercurrent of tropical house, "If It Ain't Love" still manages to sound very fresh for the upcoming summer season.

If it ain't "Want to Want Me," why does it sound so good? Oh yeah, because Jason Derulo is kind of great now?! (Though he is still incredibly inconsistent. We will never forget "Get Ugly.")

"If It Ain't Love" is Jason Derulo's new single, though it has yet to be attached to an album. Derulo is set to give the song its live debut this weekend when he hosts the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday (April 3). Derulo joins the likes of ZAYN, Justin Bieber, Meghan Trainor and more in the iHeartRadio Music Awards lineup.

Derulo's last album, Everything Is 4, was released in June 2015.
