Justin Bieber has been criticized by PETA for posing with a lion cub in an Instagram photo shortly before his show in Toronto. The series of photos on Instagram show the pop star playing with the cub, cradling it in his arms and feeding it with a bottle before his return show in Canada.

The lion cub is reportedly owned by Alex Haditaghi, who posted the photos to Instagram.

In a statement released to NME, Lisa Lange, the Senior Vice President of Communications at PETA said, “Nearly three weeks after posing with animals from an outfit whose owner is facing five counts of cruelty for mercilessly whipping a tiger, Justin Bieber is at it again.”

Lange further said, “He apparently posed with the same baby lion who had been paraded at his father’s engagement party and torn away from his mother shortly after birth -- putting his life at risk so that he could be exploited for photo ops with Clueless celebrities. This is cruelty, not conservation, and it’s time for Bieber to say ‘Sorry’ for endorsing the sleazy exotic-animals trade.”

This is not the only trouble that Bieber has been in recently and is also reportedly being sued for $75,000 for a smashed cell phone. The lawsuit asserts that Bieber destroyed the cell phone when the man attempted to videotape Bieber drinking from a beer bong at a concert last month.

The complainant who filed the lawsuit is Robert Earl Morgan, who resides in Harris County near Houston, Texas where the show took place. The suit alleges that Bieber stole the phone from Morgan and broke it. Morgan is asserting that he lost numerous photos and information along with the broken phone.
