The No. 1 spot may have eluded Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea's "Problem" in the United States, but the lead single from the new album My Everything has debuted at the top of the charts in the U.K.

This week, Grande and Azalea made Official Singles Chart history by having the first No. 1 single under the new U.K. formula, which includes both sales and digital streaming.

Before the July 6 week, only sales counted in Britain for the singles chart. The new U.K. formula counts 100 streams as a single purchase.

According to The Official Charts Company, "Problem" topped the chart thanks to a combined chart sales figure of 113,000 units, with 106,000 copies of the song sold and 712,000 audio streams.

This is Grande's first No. 1 song in the U.K.

Though "Problem" has been available in the United States since late April, the single just dropped in Britain, following Grande's announcement of her second studio album My Everything, which will be released Aug. 25 after the MTV Video Music Awards.

"Problem" entered in the top 10 of the Official Singles Chart along with two other new singles, Sia's "Chandelier" and DJ Fresh's "Make U Bounce," featuring TC and Little Nikki, which entered the charts at Nos. 6 and 10, respectively.

Last week's No. 1 single in the U.K. "Gecko (Overdrive)" by house music producer Oliver Heldens and vocalist Becky Hill slipped to No. 5.
