So the rumored collaboration between The Weeknd and Daft Punk did come to something. The "Earned It" crooner and "Get Lucky" robots have teamed up on the super collab "Starboy" that is the title track for Abel Tesfaye's upcoming third album.

The futuristic collaboration links up two very unlikely collaborators in The Weeknd and Daft Punk for one track. Daft Punk provides a robotic production that fuses together their futuristic electronic sound with the soothing R&B that Abel's voice glides over. The Frenchman cut his voice in the hook and pitches it similar to a synth like on past records to make it part of the melody.

Over the well-crafted beat, The Weeknd croons about the celebrity lifestyle as a "starboy" that he has discussed in the past. He gives a shout out to Brad Pitt, something he probably didn't think would be so relevant right now, and then continues on about cars, wealth and women.

It is good to hear something new from these two. The Weeknd has appeared on a few features for the likes of Kanye West and Disclosure over the past year, but Daft Punk has predictably gone totally quiet.

The Weeknd released his album Beauty Behind The Madness last year and absolutely dominated the charts over the course of 2015, but fell out of the conversation in 2016. We now know he was hard at work preparing another new album for this year.

The Weeknd's album Starboy will be released on Nov. 25. It will contain 18 tracks in total. The only other song that is listed on the tracklist is titled "False Alarm" and does not have any features.

Fans can stream the full song on Spotify below and pick it up on iTunes. The album can also be pre-ordered there as well.
