Katy Perry is one of the most successful recording artists to date. Most of her albums rank in the US Billboard 200, and she has a number of awards under her belt. She is behind the hits "Roar," "Firework," and "Daisies," most of which she has written herself.

However, aside from her own hit songs, Katy also worked on songs for other artists. Here are six popular songs Katy Perry co-wrote for other artists:

"Long Shot" by Kelly Clarkson (2009)

For Kelly Clarkson's fourth studio album, "All I Ever Wanted," she received two songs from Katy Perry. One of them is "Long Shot." Its title refers to the odds of the flawed relationship working. In the song initially recorded by Clarkson, the singer narrates an unexpected and uncertain relationship.

Katy co-wrote the song together with Glen Ballard and Matt Thiessen. Stephen Thomas Erlewine has praised the popular song as "illustrating why [Clarkson] 's a better pop star" as compared to Katy Perry.

"Passenger" by Britney Spears (2013)

"Passenger" is one of the tracks from Britney Spears's eighth album. "Britney Jean" was released in July 2013. Among the songwriters who pitched for the song include Sia and Diplo, and Katy Perry. The EDM track fused pop-rock, electro, pop, power ballad.

The song was critically received. Critics especially noted Spears' vocals and the song's composition. The Guardian's Michael Gragg wrote that "the Diplo-produced Passenger sounds refreshingly experimental."

"That's More Like It" by Selena Gomez and The Scene

This "cheeky-50's kind of theme" popular song, as described by Selena Gomez herself, was also co-written by Katy Perry. She worked on the track together with Josh Alexander and Billy Steinberg.

Selena Gomez & the Scene included this track in their third album "When The Sun Goes Down," released in 2011. However, a year after its release, a snippet of Katy Perry's original recording was leaked. The leak was also positively received, with fans noting slight differences in the lyrics.

"Get On Your Knees" by Nicki Minaj featuring Ariana Grande

Another popular song that Katy Perry worked on is this party banger with Nicki Minaj in the verses and features Ariana Grande's vocals. The 2014 "Get On Your Knees" appears on Nicki Minaj's third album "The Pinkprint," which debuted at the No. 2 spot of the Billboard album charts.

The single, described in a track-by-track breakdown by Slate, describes "Get Down On Your Knees" as a "dominatrix fantasy." It also quoted Minaj as joking that the songwriter is on "her Katy Perry," though Perry has never made a song quite like it.

"Black Widow" by Iggy Azalea featuring Rita Ora

The "Kill Bill" reminiscent "Black Widow" by Iggy Azalea and Rita Ora charted in various countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the US, and the UK. This 2014 popular song was co-written by Katy Perry originally for her 2013 album "Prism." However, she later passed it to Rita Ora, who completed and released the song.

Some critics compared the song to Perry's other song. Still, "Dark Horse," it didn't stop "Black Widow" from commercial success. It was among the singles that helped propel Azalea's debut album, "The New Classic," towards achieving overall critical and commercial success.
