Solo female MC to top in Billboard Hot 100

Cardi B is the first female rapper, in nearly 20 years after Lauren Hill, to hold the No.1 spot in Hot 100 chart (dated Oct.7, 2017) with no credited featured artists. Hill's "Doo-Wop (That Thing)" hit the charts in1998. 

In the third week of being on the No.1 spot of the chart, Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" was also the longest-running chart-topper by a solo female rapper on the Billboard Hot 100. Again, Lauryn Hill's record was surpassed, only two weeks at no.1 spot in 1998.

3 entries to the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs' Top 10 chart

The "Like" singer was recognized for having 3 songs as entries simultaneously to the Hot R&B/Hip-hop Songs chart on November 18, 2018, to be exact. Cardi's entries were "Bodak Yellow(Money Moves)," "Motorsport (collaboration with Migos and Nicki Minaj)," and "No Limit(G-Eazy's track)." 

5 simultaneous top 10 on Hot R&B/hip-hop songs chart

The "I Like It" singer is a breakout rapper for becoming the first woman to have 5 songs in the top 10 of the Hot R&B/Hip-hop songs chart simultaneously January 20, 2018. She surpassed Beyonce's record, which charted four songs at one time. Cardi includes her appearances on her own single "Bartier Bardi," along with the "Bodak Yellow, Bruno Mars' "Finesse," 'G-Eazy's "No Limit," and Migos' "MotorSport." Cardi B tied up with Kendrick Lamar and Drake for most consecutive top 10s. 

3 singles to be in top 10 simultaneously in the Hot 100

Cardi B started 2018 with the recognition as the first rapper to have three singles in the Hot 100's top 10 of Billboard simultaneously. The rapper's debut single "Bodak Yellow" and her appearances on Mogo's "MotorSport" and G-Eazy's "No Limit" were all in the top 10 of the Hot 100 chart on January 3, 2018. It made her one of the only six women to have 3 simultaneous top 10s wherein Ashanti, Iggy Azalea, Beyonce, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj are included.  

Back-to-back winner of ASCAP Top Rhythm & Soul Songwriter award

This year, Cardi B added another record to her achievements as the first female songwriter to win the annual ASCAP award twice, whether consecutive years or not. Reports say that Mary J Blige, Alicia Key, and Kandi Burruss have won the same award in the past years but only once.
