It took 37 years for Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" to become the number one hit in the United Kingdom. 

The track is certainly going places, and topping all sorts of charts. 

As of this writing, "Running" is also on track for a second-place finish on the Billboard Hot 100. 

Only a few days after debuting at the top of the UK singles chart and breaking numerous records, Bush's 1985 song is currently at the top of the First Look chart. 

The 44-year gap between "Wuthering Heights," which launched her career in 1978, and "Running Up That Hill," from Hounds of Love, is the longest in Official Chart history. 

On top of all that, she's the oldest solo artist to top the UK charts, and she's held that position for more than a decade. 

"As It Was" by Harry Styles, the former number one, is Bush's closest competitor thus far in the chart week, while "Afraid To Feel" by LF System is up 4-3.

Following the release of a new album on Friday (June 17), In any case, Canadian rapper Drake (Falling Back, Texts Go Green, and Jimmy Cooks) might score three new top 10 hits in the United Kingdom with 21 Savage on "Falling Back," "Texts Go Green," and "Jimmy Cooks" (No. 7). 

"Glimpse Of Us," a song by Japanese artist Joji, is now at No. 31 on the UK singles chart and could make it into the Top 20 for the first time. 

On June 17, the UK Singles Chart is released.

After the song's use in Netflix's latest season of "Stranger Things," promptly going viral and going up the charts, she released a rare statement thanking listeners. 

"The track is being responded to in so many positive ways. I've never experienced anything quite like this before!" said Bush. "I just want to say a really big thank you to everyone in the U.S. who has supported the song. It's the first time I've had a top ten single over there and now it's in the top 5! Thank you so much again to the Duffer Brothers - because of their latest, extraordinary series of Stranger Things, the track is being discovered by a whole new audience."
