Sir Paul McCartney isn't done surprising fans ahead of his Glastonbury Music Festival set, as he recently had a warm-up gig that amassed many fans who never got the chance to buy tickets for the event. However, there's a major problem.

According to the BBC, the music legend performed at the Cheese and Grain in Frome, Somerset, before taking the stage of the iconic music festival.

The venue can only hold around 800 people, leading hundreds of ticketless fans to gather outside. They faced a massive problem as it was raining.

Despite the unpleasant weather, it appears that the attendees were happy to hear McCartney's music from the outside.

In an interview, a fan named Jenny McDonald said fans could "get the gist" outside the venue. She added that they could "sort of hear them play" even though the place had improved its soundproofing since Foo Fighters' concert in 2017.

The former Beatles member arrived in a black BMW as hundreds of fans gathered together to cheer and greet him.

In the middle of his set, the venue opened one of the side doors, making fans outside to hear the music "a bit better."

The latest news comes a day after Cheese and Grain surprised fans upon announcing that the legend would be playing in their venue before he took the stage of Glastonbury.

"In 24 hours time from now Paul McCartney will be performing live, here in Frome, at the Cheese and Grain. What an incredible opportunity to watch Paul warm up for his Glastonbury headlining performance this weekend," the venue shared.

Tickets were cheap as they were only sold for £25 ($30.65).

Lucky fans were able to get passes as tickets immediately sold out after a few minutes.

McCartney will headline Glastonbury this weekend, making him the oldest ever solo performer at the age of 80.

His performance will be exactly a week after he celebrated his birthday.

Aside from the musician, other headliners will be Billie Eilish and Kenrick Lamar, which will headline on different dates.

This would be the festival's biggest comeback after the past two shows, where Taylor Swift was supposed to headline, were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Other performers include Lorde, Charli XCX, Olivia Rodrigo, Haim, Megan Thee Stallion, Blossoms, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Self Esteem, Wolf Alice, St. Vincent, Turnstile and many more.
