Good news for Dream Theater fans! The band is planning to record their 16th studio album soon but supporters will have to wait for quite a long time before it gets released.

John Petrucci recently spoke to Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM's "Trunk Nation" where he teased fans about their big plans this coming 2023.

The guitarist revealed that the rock band will be touring throughout next year as they have a lot of catching up to do after two years of not doing anything throughout the pandemic.

"We played two shows only in Asia; we played, like, four shows in South America. There's a lot more ground to cover. So 2023 is gonna be filled with Dream Theater touring; I'm certain of that," he added. (via NME)

Regarding new music, the musician noted that they are still working on their previous record and he doesn't see himself with his bandmates in a recording studio anytime soon.

However, he confirmed that they will return to recording their new album late next year.

"There's not gonna be any studio work done before the fall; I highly doubt it. So a new record wouldn't be [released before] the following year," he added.

Their last album titled "A View From The Top Of The World" was released last year, it was their first project recorded at their own studio called Dream Theater Headquarters.
